Main tasks
The position is located in the Z02 project of the Collaborative Research Center SFB1328. The main goal of SFB1328 is to improve the understanding of the regulatory role of adenine nucleotides (AN) and their kinetics in the context of inflammatory diseases. Specific objectives relate to (i) the modulation of the balance between pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory processes by AN converting ecto-nucleotidases and purinergic receptors, and (ii) AN-driven intracellular calcium and cAMP signaling in inflammation.
The aim of this central service project Z02 is to produce 1) monoclonal antibodies and functional nanobodies against the main players of AN signaling and 2) nanobody-based for AN sensors and fluorescent probes and to make them available to other research groups of the SFB1328.
Your tasks:
- Planning, execution and evaluation of project-related experiments. This includes working with experimental animals (e.g. immunization of mice)
- Documentation and presentation of research results
- Preparation of publications
- Coordinating the work of technical assistants
- Supervision of subject-specific internships for scientific/medical doctoral students of the IRTG of the SFB1328
- Assumption of other organizational tasks
This position is to be filled for a limited period of 2 years as part of a third-party funded project.
Your profile
- Completed scientific university degree in natural sciences with a doctorate preferably in the field of molecular biology or immunology or equivalent skills and experience
- Experience and competence in the field of Nanobody/Antibody Discovery & Engineering
- Experience and competence in the application of molecular biology methods (cloning, phage display)
- Experience and competence in the production of recombinant proteins in eukaryotic cells
- Experience and competence in handling laboratory animals (mice, FELASA B course)
- High social competence and independence
- Very good written and spoken English skills
